AirPersons, another European startup
hoping to move to The Valley, presents its new viral video with a retro scent.
AirPersons
is another European company that is packing to move to The Valley seeking
financing and Venture Capital. Airpersons allows you to connect through live
video chat to any type of professionals: lawyers, doctors, psychologists, math
teachers, language teachers, personal shoppers, and so… up to more than 1000
categories. Services are person-to-person and billing is for the minute. Android
and iOs apps will be available throughout next month of April.
To introduce itself, Airpersons has posted a video with a retro feel and a touch of humor/criticism to the manner in which services are currently hired. They exploit the concept that there is no point doing a search in 0.025 seconds if you can’t get an appointment with a doctor or an attorney for less than 10 days.
Do you remember Charlot? We don’t give any clues; you better watch the video.
The website
works in 25 languages and, according to its founders M. Lewis and L. Lauper, its
objective is to globalize the world of services, offering the possibility of
purchasing services online at the best price anywhere in the world, benefiting
from currency exchange. For example, you can find 30 minutes Chinese classes
for only $3! And a 15 minute medical consultation in English with an Indian
doctor from $10.
‘We are
aware that other websites are trying to do similar things, the difference is
that on AirPersons you already can find services in 25 languages. We will soon launch
the Android and iOS apps, which will allow users offering services to earn
extra money on the go, and those buying services to do so 24/7 at the best
prices. We offer free services worth up to $40 to the first 100,000 users who
register on the web’ says Mr. Lewis.
AirPersons
is actually a cross between Ebay, LinkedIn, Ask, and a video chat system. You can
view the profile of service providers; ask free questions before paying for a
video chat session, and do advance service searches according to many criteria.
The web has
Business Accounts that allow companies to offer a service and let it be handled
by different people. For example, a law firm can offer a legal online advice
service and associate it to several of its lawyers. Airpersons detects which
attorney is online whether on the website or on mobile through the iOS and
Android applications, and redirects the service query to one of those online. Service
creation is so simple you can create a service in less than 30 seconds and post
it worldwide.
The
founders wish to keep the development team in Europe and have an office open in
the Valley to make direct contact with investors, other startups, close collaboration
agreements, etc. ‘Truth is that we would love to take the development team to the
Valley with us, but then we would shortly have to look for a whole new team since
at the Valley good professionals jump from one company to another very quickly
and our team is really good". In Europe access to VC is more difficult but
fortunately development there is up to 60% cheaper and staff turnover is
lower" says Mr. Lauper, who studied in Indiana.
